1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Clever Cupboard ("the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. About Clever Cupboard

Clever Cupboard is a personal recipe, pantry and meal planning app. It lets you save, organize and share recipes, and includes AI-assisted features, a public Community section and private communities.

3. User Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at legal@clever-cupboard.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You can delete your account at any time in Profile > Settings > Delete Account.

4. Your Content

You keep ownership of the recipes and content you add to Clever Cupboard. By saving content in the App, you give Clever Cupboard a limited license to store it and show it to you.

When you share a recipe publicly or in a community, you also give the users who can see it a non-exclusive right to view that recipe within the App.

5. Community Sharing & Copyright

Clever Cupboard respects intellectual property rights. When you share a recipe, you confirm that:

• You created the recipe yourself, or have permission from the rights holder to share it.
• You have not copied recipe instructions word for word from a book, website or other copyrighted source without permission.
• You understand that ingredient lists (as raw facts) are generally not protected by copyright, but written instructions and creative expression are.
• The AI import feature rewrites recipe instructions in its own words as a courtesy; it is still your responsibility to confirm you have the right to use the source material.

Clever Cupboard does not pre-screen shared content for copyright. If you believe a shared recipe infringes your copyright, see section 10 (DMCA).

6. Communities & Invitations

You can create communities and invite others with a link or invite code. Invite links can be forwarded, so anyone with a link can ask to join. In a private community, only people an owner or admin approves become members. In a public community, anyone with the invite code can join directly.

Community owners and admins decide who to approve and can remove members. You are responsible for the content you share in a community and for who you approve.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Share content that infringes anyone else's intellectual property rights.
• Post false, misleading or harmful recipe information.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or exploit the App or its AI features.
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Impersonate another person or entity.

8. Ratings & Community Content

The CC Score (Taste, Time Accuracy, Ease, Value) comes from voluntary user ratings and is for information only. Clever Cupboard makes no warranty about the accuracy of any rating or community recipe.

We may remove any community content that violates these Terms without prior notice.

9. AI-Assisted Features

Clever Cupboard uses AI providers, Anthropic and OpenAI, to import and summarize recipes, scan items and suggest recipes. The App asks for your permission before using them, and you can turn AI features off in Profile > Settings > AI Features. See our Privacy Policy for what is sent.

AI-generated content may contain errors. Always use your own judgment when preparing food, especially about allergens, cooking temperatures and food safety. Ingredient accessibility scores are AI estimates and may not reflect local availability.

10. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)

If you believe content in Clever Cupboard infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@clever-cupboard.com.

Please include your contact information, a description of the copyrighted work, the recipe title or link of the infringing content, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. We will investigate and remove infringing content promptly.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Clever Cupboard is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the App will always be available, or that recipes are accurate, safe or suitable for your dietary needs.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clever Cupboard and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or content found in it.

13. Subscriptions & Billing

Clever Cupboard Pro is a monthly auto-renewing subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store.

• Subscription name: Clever Cupboard Pro
• Billing period: Monthly
• Price: $3.99 per month, or the price shown at the time of purchase in your local currency.
• Payment and renewal: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price at the end of each billing period unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Managing your subscription: Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• Free trial: If a free trial is offered, any unused part of the trial ends when you buy a subscription.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the new Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
